Caribe Connect (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the platform at caribe-connect.vercel.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our platform.
By using Caribe Connect, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following personal information when you register or interact with Caribe Connect:
- •Full name — to identify your account and personalize your experience
- •Email address — to create and manage your account, and to communicate with you
- •WhatsApp number — to process Connect Card memberships, send community updates, and provide customer support
We may also collect non-personal technical data such as browser type, device type, pages visited, and approximate location (country/region) through standard web analytics tools. This data is collected in aggregate and cannot be used to identify you individually.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information solely for the following purposes:
Platform Access
- •To create and manage your Caribe Connect account
- •To verify your identity when you sign in
- •To enable you to add and manage business listings, events, jobs, or marketplace posts
- •To process your Caribe Connect Card membership
Communications
- •To send you confirmation messages when you register or purchase a Connect Card
- •To notify you of updates to your listings or account
- •To send community newsletters and platform announcements (only if you have opted in)
- •To respond to your support requests via email or WhatsApp
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
3. Sharing Your Information with Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- •Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform, including Supabase (database hosting) and Vercel (website hosting). These providers process your data only as necessary to deliver the service and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- •Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority.
- •Business transfer: In the unlikely event that Caribe Connect is acquired or merged with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified in advance.
All partner businesses listed in the Caribe Connect directory are independent third parties. We do not share your personal account data with partner businesses without your explicit consent.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services.
If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.
5. How to Request Deletion of Your Data
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time.
To submit a data deletion request:

- 2.Include the name and email address associated with your account
- 3.We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days
You may also request a copy of the data we hold about you by sending the same email with the subject line: “Data Access Request”.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Our platform uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) and our database is hosted on Supabase with industry-standard security controls.
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
7. Cookies
Caribe Connect uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may affect your ability to use certain features of the platform.
8. Children's Privacy
Caribe Connect is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
